Green Distilling: Rainwater & Renewable Energy
We believe Great British rum should not only taste exceptional, but also do good for the planet and that is why sustainability is embedded into every decision at V Rum. It is not an after-thought, it is fundamental to how the brand operates.
In our Hampshire based distillery, innovation meets nature. We collect rainwater on-site and filter it for use in distilling, which cuts our reliance on fresh water and celebrates the UK’s own weather patterns. Our distillery is powered by 100% renewable electricity and bio gas, and we have an advanced heat recovery system which captures and reuses waste heat from distillation to warm future batches, dramatically slashing energy use. UK-refined molasses is used to minimise transport emissions, further reducing the brand’s environmental footprint.
By treating water and energy as precious resources, we lead the way in eco-conscious distilling.
Packaging with Purpose: Bespoke Bottles & Natural Labels
Every detail of our packaging is designed with the planet in mind. For example, we launched the first custom-designed pentagon-shaped bottle made from 100% recycled glass, entirely crafted in the UK. This bespoke bottle is as elegant as it is eco-friendly, reducing our carbon footprint without sacrificing style. Even our labels are made from natural plant fibres, incorporating materials like hemp (95%) and linen blend (5%) and our cartons are FSC-certified, locally sourced and about 90% recycled.
We also partner with specialist couriers who ship our rum carefully (preventing breakages) and avoid extra plastic wrapping. By choosing premium yet responsible packaging, we ensure every bottle reflects our commitment to the environment.

We’re a proudly British brand, and supporting local craft is at our core. Being based in Hampshire, we work closely with nearby businesses, building lasting partnerships that celebrate the region’s talent. Because we control production on-site, we can ensure every drop of rum is made conscientiously – from fermentation to distillation, allowing us to keep the quality high and carbon miles low, as we bottle in Liphook Hampshire.
